A Look Ahead at June 2017

This month is going to be a busy one at Libertyville #492! With all of the degrees, meetings, and special events happening this month, we figured it would be best to give you a quick run-down of what's happening!

You can always see all of our upcoming events by checking out our Calendar.

June 9 - Third Degree and Stated Meeting

On June 9 we are raising a Brother to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason and is also our second-to-last Stated Meeting before going dark for July and August.  There are a number of items that need our attention before we take a couple months off as we quickly approach our sesquicentennial celebration, so we encourage all brothers to attend the meeting if possible.

The Third Degree will be put on after the meeting, and we have the honor of raising a brother who has put in months of hard work leading up to this degree.  The brother returned the long-form Entered Apprentice and Fellowcraft catechisms, so we owe it to him as a lodge to put on a wonderful degree.

Dinner will be served at 6:00pm and the meeting will start promptly at 7:00pm.

June 17 - Chicago day at the illinois railway museum

Come join us in Union, Illinois for a special event commemorating the last day of streetcar service in Chicago 56 years ago.  Chicago streetcars, trolley coaches, "L" trains, and interurban and commuter trains of the past will be on display and operating.  This event is open to all Masons and their families as well.

We will meet at the museum at 9:00am.  Admission is $14 for adults, $10 for children.  Refreshment is available for purchase at the museum cafeteria.

June 23 - Second Degree and Stated Meeting

The second Stated Meeting of June will be a Second Degree and is also our final Stated Meeting before we go dark for the summer.  After this meeting, we will not have any Stated Meetings until the second Friday in September - which will be a little over a week until our Sesquicentennial Re-dedication Celebration.

There will be a lot of business to discuss - the sesquicentennial, reports from committees, and any new business.  Following the business portion of the meeting, we will go directly into  the Second Degree.

Dinner will be served at 6:00pm and the meeting will start promptly at 7:00pm.

June 24 - Open House Celebrating the 300th Anniversary of Freemasonry

On Saturday, June 24th, Masons around the world will join together to recognize and celebrate the 300th Anniversary of Freemasonry.

We will be opening our doors that day and welcoming in anyone who is curious to learn a little more about Freemasonry. Whether you've seen our building while walking downtown, have a family member who was a Freemason, or if you want to know if the Dan Brown books and National Treasure are accurate representations of Masons, we welcome you to come visit our beautiful lodge.

We will have members of the lodge around to welcome guests, answer questions, and give tours of the lodge to anyone who stops by between 9:00am and 1:00pm
